Guru Utsav

“गुरु ब्रह्मा, गुरु विष्णु, गुरु देवो महेश्वरा — गुरु साक्षात परम ब्रह्मा, तस्मै श्री गुरुवे नमः”

Our teachers have been the guiding light — shaping us into compassionate, resilient, and accomplished individuals. Their selfless dedication instilled wisdom, kindness, and character within us.

Guru Utsav was the Nopany Alumni Association’s heartfelt Guru Dakshina — a long-overdue tribute to the mentors who laid the foundation of our lives.

The Evening

On 7th December 2024, a hundred Nopanians gathered at Bika Banquet, Golaghata, Kolkata to honour over 60 revered teachers from Nopany School. The evening began at 6 PM with a traditional welcome, followed by:

• 🪔 Lamp lighting ceremony by senior teachers
• 🙏 Felicitation of each teacher with tokens of gratitude
• 🎤 Heartfelt speeches from alumni sharing how their gurus shaped their journeys
• 📸 Reunion moments — teachers and students reconnecting after decades
• 🍽️ Dinner — breaking bread with the people who taught us our ABCs

For many, it was the first time seeing their teachers in 20, 30, or even 40 years. Tears, laughter, and bear hugs filled the hall as batch after batch rose to honour the men and women who once stood at the blackboard.

“It wasn’t just an event — it was a homecoming to the classrooms of our childhood.”

The evening concluded with a group photograph and a promise: this was only the first edition. Guru Utsav will return.
